WHAT IS A TRANSTIBIAL PROSTHESIS?

A transtibial prosthesis, also known as is a below-the-knee (BK) prosthesis, is a custom-made device for individuals with a limb loss or limb difference between their knee and ankle joint.

A transtibial prosthesis includes:

Custom socket fitting around the residual limb
Suspension system securing the device to the limb
Pylon acting as structural support of the prosthesis
Prosthetic foot providing balance and shock absorption
