REGAIN MOBILITY AND FREEDOM

WHAT IS A TRANSTIBIAL PROSTHESIS?

A transtibial prosthesis, also known as is a below-the-knee (BK) prosthesis, is a custom-made device for individuals with a limb loss or limb difference between their knee and ankle joint.

A transtibial prosthesis includes:

  • Custom socket fitting around the residual limb
  • Suspension system securing the device to the limb
  • Pylon acting as structural support of the prosthesis
  • Prosthetic foot providing balance and shock absorption

Your practitioner will help you determine the right style and fit so you can move easier and be more comfortable in your daily life.
