“I started my journey in this field at the University of Iowa getting my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering. I found through my time there that I enjoyed problem solving but I wanted to work directly with the people that are going to be using the things I make. I got my masters degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Northwestern University and completed my residency in Oregon. I spent 5 year out there practicing, came back to the Midwest where I was born (in the Chicago Suburbs) for 2 years and now back in Iowa where my Wife’s family is from.
The great thing about prosthetics and orthotics (O&P) is that I get to blend my problem-solving skills, working with my hands, and working with people all into one. Everyone is different, which keeps things interesting!
Ultimately, I feel like this device is so personal that my job is to help with my knowledge and expertise to make it undoubtedly yours. I love working to figure out what you want to do and work together to figure out how to best reach those goals and make it the best experience possible.
This is why I was drawn to Limb Lab because that is exactly what everyone here is working towards, helping our patients reach their goals. It’s great being back in Iowa after practicing in Oregon and Illinois to be able to put down roots and growing my family.”
