I was introduced to the P&O field through working and volunteering in various healthcare settings as well as
teaching adaptive sports. I was able to see from many different angles how prosthetics and orthotics enhance
people’s lives. I even experienced firsthand their effectiveness from having to wear a back brace as a teenager.
After job shadowing for several days in the P&O field, I immediately knew this was the path I wanted to take. It is a profession that combines my love of biomechanics, relationship-centered care, and working with my hands. I feel privileged to work with and learn from the people that come into Limb Lab. There is such an emphasis on
collaboration and creativity at Limb Lab which nurtures the process of exploring and discovering the most
optimal, client-centered solutions. Hearing the stories of the individuals I serve and seeing their determination
motivates me to work harder and do better every day to help them reach their goals.
