What is a lowerlimb prosthesis?

Runner with prosthetic legs wearing athletic gear on track

A lower limb prosthesis replaces a leg or part of a leg. The socket connects your body to the device, with leg, knee, and foot components for function and aesthetics.

We shape the socket from a cast of your limb, then choose components with you based on how you move and what you want to do.

Is this right for me?

You may be a fit if…

Move more easily, with greater strength and range of motion. Reduce muscle strain. Stand, walk, and even run with greater comfort.

  • You’ve had, or are scheduled for, an amputation below or above the knee.
  • Your current socket rubs, slips, or hurts.
  • You’re looking for support for other activities.
  • You’re unhappy with your current device or want to explore new options.
