Lindsay
Learning through play
Lindsay is a homeschooling mom in Rochester. She loves weaving lessons into crafts, reading and play, and being part of every day of her kids’ lives.
Five days
In 2001, at 18, Lindsay fell asleep at the wheel. Her car landed in a ravine below an interstate, where no one could see it. She survived five days before highway workers found her. Both of her legs were amputated, and by that July she was standing again.
“It’s amazing what the human body can do and what we’re capable of.”
Starting over in a new state
In 2018, after 18 years in California, Lindsay moved to Minnesota just before her daughter was born. Finding new prosthetic care felt like starting her journey over. She began working with our Rochester team with her baby on a blanket on the clinic floor.
Room to try what works
Our team has worked with Lindsay through several suspension systems to find the best fit for her limbs. Today she uses elevated vacuum suspension and feet with built-in torsion that handle uneven ground with a natural feel.
“When my prosthetic fit feels good, I feel like I’m not missing limbs.”
A place to belong
For Lindsay, Limb Lab feels like family: patient-centered, and focused on helping every person do what matters to them, whether that’s competing in sports or raising kids.
