When a close family member experienced above-the-knee limb loss, I witnessed his progress and was especially interested in how advances in technology led directly to increases in his quality of life. I decided then to pursue a career in orthotics and prosthetics. Now, I love building relationships with people while creating custom tools that empower their functional independence and help them lead fuller lives. This field requires that practitioners be problem solvers, and I relish opportunities to connect and create with people while helping to solve their problems.
My post-secondary education journey began when I earned a degree in business administration from St. Norbert College. The journey continued at Century College, where I studied the technical and clinical aspects of the orthotics and prosthetics field. I next earned a master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics from Concordia St. Paul. After that, I completed an orthotics residency in Phoenix, Arizona. During my residency, I worked hospital trauma cases, assisted with physical therapy, and created custom assistive devices for people experiencing illness and injury. After completing my orthotics residency, I completed my prosthetics residency at Limb Lab in Rochester, Minnesota gaining valuable knowledge and experience from industry leading clinicians and surgeons. I am now practicing at Limb Lab in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I was drawn to this field from the inspiring and meaningful stories we all see posted daily. Right then I knew I wanted to be a part of this profession that helps make a direct impact on a person’s quality of life; a profession that truly is hands on and creates such strong bonds with people and the devices we create for them. I am a Florida native and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. I then completed my Prosthetic and Orthotic education at the Baylor School of Medicine. Part of my residency time was spent in Lincoln, NE at Limb Lab. My time there allowed me to see firsthand what Limb Lab is about and that our goals to provide the best possible patient care while fabricating custom devices that intimately fit and make such an impact of a person life aligned perfectly.
Once the opportunity to continue my career with Limb Lab in the Scottsdale area became available, I took it. I found a great city, great community, and great team here. I enjoy being outdoors, taking in the native area, hiking, exercising, and baseball!
My journey in Prosthetics and Orthotics is fueled by a profound desire to advance the field through innovation and personalized care for patients. Designing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices allows me to demonstrate my commitment to enhancing the lives of patients through cutting-edge solutions.
I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for undergrad where I studied Biomedical Engineering with a focus on biomechanics. During undergrad I had a large interest in prosthetics, but no classes were offered. Upon graduation I moved to Chicago, Illinois where I worked for a hospital repairing all the medical equipment. After a few years in that industry, I knew I wasn’t passionate about it. After some deep self-reflection, I finally took a leap of faith and entered the prosthetics & orthotics industry as a clinical assistant. I immediately loved it and all of my curiosities of the profession had been validated. The next steps were to earn my master’s degree in O&P, which I earned at Northwestern University. Graduating in the spring of 2023 led me to pursue my residency and career with Limb Lab in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Growing up, whenever asked the question ‘what do you want to do when you are older’, I never quite knew what I wanted to do, just that I wanted to help people. Since discovering the field of orthotics and prosthetics, I have found a passion for this unique field. I fell in love with the idea of a career that allows me to work with patients while also getting to be very hands-on and creative. I got my Bachelors degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University, where I was involved in adaptive fitness and got certified in personal training. I continued my education at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas where I got my Masters of Prosthetics and Orthotics. I feel very fortunate to have returned to my home state of Arizona for my residency at Limb Lab. I continue to learn every single day at Limb Lab and have loved the innovation and problem-solving that we do each day to help our patients regain their mobility and independency.
I’ve always known that I wanted to work in the medical field from a young age. After graduating with my associate degree in Allied Health Science as a Medical Assistant, I worked in a multitude of positions at couple of offices in pediatric and OBGYN care. The variety allowed me to expand, build upon, and strengthen many valuable administrative, patient care, and business skill sets. In 2021, I joined the Limb Lab family and since then, I strive to ensure every patient that comes into our office feels like they are part of the family. The front desk is the first and last contact of any/all services and I strive to be that friendly and welcoming face
