Macy Urban is a Certified and Licensed Prosthetist Orthotist at Limb Lab in Omaha, Nebraska.
Her clinical work focuses on lower limb prosthetics for transtibial and transfemoral patients, pediatric prosthetics and orthotics, scoliosis bracing, and cranial remolding orthoses for infants with plagiocephaly. She also fits the CarbonHand soft robotic grip-assist glove and cares for patients living with neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis and inclusion body myositis.
Macy earned her Master of Orthotics and Prosthetics from Baylor College of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science from Creighton University. Her residency spanned several clinics, including Limb Lab in Lincoln, Nebraska, exposing her to a wide range of patient populations and practice styles. She is a guest lecturer for the physical therapy program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
She first encountered orthotics and prosthetics through a college friend with a below-knee prosthesis, then shadowed weekly in the orthotics and prosthetics department at the Omaha VA Hospital while finishing her degree. A lifelong Omaha resident, Macy is glad to practice in the city she and her husband call home.
