How to Safely Take Off Your Baby’s Talee Helmet
Taking off your baby’s helmet is basically putting it on in reverse. The main thing to remember: always unclip both sides before you lift anything off.
Taking the helmet off:
- Grab the tab on one clasp and carefully release it, then do the same on the other side
- Make sure both sides are undone before removing the front portion. Pulling the helmet off with one side still clipped puts a lot of strain on the helmet.
- Gently lift your baby and remove the back piece. You can do this lying down or sitting up, whichever works better for you and your baby.
A tip for putting it back on:
If you’re on your own, it’s usually easier to put the helmet on with your baby lying on a table. If you have someone helping, you can do it with your baby sitting up. Either way, check the fit afterward and make sure the helmet sits low enough on your baby’s head.
