The Founder of Levitate, Lasse Madsen, lost his right leg above the knee as a teenager. Active leg prosthetics were brand new technology back then, and almost impossible to get, so he had to make do with a makeshift device that his prosthetist cobbled together from spare parts.

Frustrated by the financial challenges of obtaining an active prosthetic solution, Madsen— an engineer with 10 years of experience – dedicated two years to developing Levitate’s first prosthetic solution in collaboration with top engineers from the Technical University of Denmark.
