What is a Transfemoral Prosthesis?

Transfemoral or above-the-knee prostheses and knee disarticulation prostheses, replace the part of the leg above the knee joint.

These prosthetic systems include a custom-made socket that fits your residual limb, a suspension system to keep it secure, a knee joint (mechanical or microprocessor), and a prosthetic foot.
